Many forms of exercise require some sort of rhythm. From running to biking to spending some time on a cross-trainer - a lot of physical activity requires automatic rhythm.

If you're doing aerobic exercise using a treadmill or cycling, you can get faster results with songs with a BPM of 125-140. Fast and loud music raises your heart rate and blood pressure. Therefore, it is wise to exercise with slow-paced music before and after intense training.

Whilst this is probably the best recommendation, your phone is always a reliable option. Technology such as wireless earphones exists, where you can have your phone placed elsewhere and still be connected and listen to your favorite music.

With all these benefits, it's important to choose a playlist that's long enough to go through your workout and beyond so you don't lose focus in the middle of your routine. Select a song that matches the heart rate your BPM wants to achieve during your workout.

Select fast songs for high intensity and slow songs for low or medium intensity. Choose songs that you have a positive relationship with so that you can maximize your mood. Pick up the best earphones and holders for your smartphone or MP3 player and lock them out during your workout.
